Poet, ecologist and physicist Mario Petrucci is the only poet to have held residencies at the Imperial War Museum and with BBC Radio 3.  He contributes widely to poetry in the public domain (the Royal Society, the Natural History and Dickens Museums, Southwell Workhouse, Royal Festival Hall) and has been a prizewinner in the National Poetry Competition, four times winner of the London Writers Competition, and a Royal Literary Fund Fellow.  Flowers of Sulphur (Enitharmon, 2007) gained an Arts Council England Writers’ Award and a New London Writers Award, while Heavy Water: a poem for Chernobyl (Enitharmon, 2004) gave rise to an internationally acclaimed film (Seventh Art Productions).  “One of the best poets of our times” (Literati), Petrucci is credited with creating “Poetry on a geological scale… a new track for poets of witness” (Verse).  His Tales from the Bridge (a centrepiece of London’s Cultural Olympiad) was shortlisted for the 2012 Ted Hughes Award.  Petrucci has long explored the multidisciplinary and cross-genre potentials of poetry, particularly in film.  His many essays, papers and creatively-oriented resources both explore and expand the terrain between art, science and ecology.
