Fiona P McDonald is an anthropologist and senior researcher with New Knowledge
Organization, Ltd., a non-profit academic think tank based in New York City that
helps cultural, educational, research, health, environmental, media, and free learning organizations. The work carried out at New Knowledge Organization aims to expand programs and primary qualitiative and quantitive research in ways that
increase social knowledge, positive lived experiences, and enhance cultural diversity.
Fiona completed her PhD (2014) in the Department of Anthropology at University
College London with a focus on material culture and visual anthropology. Fiona
publishes widely and is a founding member of the international curatorial collective Ethnographic Terminalia (est.2009),a group that curates experimental exhibitions and projects at the intersection(s) of art and anthropology. Trained in ethnographic object analysis within museums, Fiona’s broader areas of interest are Indigenous material and visual culture, repatriation, oral histories, contemporary Indigenous art, community engagement stragetgies, new media, performance studies, and museum studies.
